چکیده
Radiomics, the method by which digital images could be transformed into mineable data, opens new horizons for biomedical research and in particular oncology, diagnostic, predictive prognostic purposes. The use of artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms radiomics algorithm makes AI two inseparable, intricate domains. defined as machine capability imitating human intelligence, has already been implemented on a large scale oncology radiotherapy. One main branches (the virtual one) learning depending application, is involved both diagnostics processes well treatment planning, – dose delivery radiotherapy quality assurance (QA). Head neck cancer (HNC), although it 6th malignancy incidence worldwide, redoubtable due to high rate therapeutic failures, especially loco-regional recurrence. Although intensity-modulated techniques have brought benefits limiting toxicities associated with irradiation, radiomics, possibility extract data from high-resolution medical imaging order build diagnostic models, upgrade technological revolution HNC at higher level. Beyond intensively studied applications, useful predicting response radio-chemotherapy, anticipating related pre-therapeutic evaluation need adaptive (ART). Clinical-radiomic models superior power delta variation radiomic features biomarker still less evaluated. Due characteristics modern includes standard image guided (IGRT) concept using computer tomography (CT) simulator Cone Beam CT (CBCT) ensure accuracy patient’s positioning during treatment, spearhead translation daily clinical routine RGRT development.

DOES HYPERFRACTIONATED RADIOTHERAPY CHANGE THE OUTCOME OF HEAD AND NECK CANCER? A TRIAL COMPARING CONVENTIONAL WITH HYPERFRACTIONATED RADIOTHERAPY
The optimal fractionation schedule for radiotherapy of head and neck cancer has been controversial. The objective of this randomized trial was to test the efficacy of hyperfractionation vs. standard fractionation. Patients with squamous cell carcinoma of head and neck organs were randomly assigned to receive radiotherapy delivered with A) standard fractionation at 2 Gy/fraction/day, 5 days...
متن کاملDose Distribution Analysis of Rapid Arc and Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy Plan in Head and Neck Cancer
Introduction: Globally, intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) is considered as highly precise and accurate method of radiotherapy planning. This technique amplifies spatial dose distribution conformity by modulating the intensity of radiation beams in each sub-volume. Additionally, it can reduces the dose to surrounding critical organs and deliver the planned dose to targets with the nom...
متن کاملPostoperative Radiotherapy in Head and Neck Cancer
Though early stage head and neck cancers can be cured either by surgery or radiation, patients with locally advanced disease continues to pose a therapeutic challenge. Locoregional failure is the major cause of death in head and neck cancers. As the outcome of locally advanced head and neck cancer is less than promising, a combined modality approach is generally undertaken in this group of pati...

Editorial Review Radiotherapy in head and neck cancer Ionizing radiation has been used as a treatment for head and neck cancer for many years and in many ways. It can be delivered from radioactive sources inserted into, or placed in close proximity to, tumours (brachytherapy), or delivered from a distance (teletherapy), from either a large radioactive source, or in the form of high energy X-ray...
متن کاملPsychological status in Head and Neck Cancer Patients with Xerostomia due to Radiotherapy
Background and objective: Psychological status is one of the quality of life (QOL) domains which can be affected by hyposalivation caused by head and neck radiotherapy. This study aimed to evaluate the psychological status of head and neck cancer (HNC) patients who were suffering from hyposalivation after at least one week of receiving radiotherapy. Material And Method: This descriptive-analyt...
